Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world with more than 31% of the population living under extreme poverty line. Apart from the geographical placement of the country, unequal distribution of opportunities facilitated by the age-old feudalistic society is another major reason for this poverty. Many communities, castes and ethnic groups have been victims of age-old political, cultural and social suppression. Having no access to education, they don’t even have a clue on ways to improve their economic standards. And because of their poverty, they are unable to engage in education. Neither can they send their children to a decent school and thus, are forever doomed to remain in this vicious cycle. HelpMyStudy is an attempt to break this cycle.
Our mission is to find out the poorest and needy families in Nepal, who are eager to provide their child with good education but are unable to do so because of their poverty. Once identified, we will look for funding of their education in the best possible school nearby. This, we believe, will have dual effect - it will not only improve the lives of most destitute children/families, but also will inspire better off families to education their children properly. Though HMS is more focused on schooling children, we will also run many campaigns and adult courses such that different age group can also gain some edge for their income generation. However, schooling the poor children and making them competitive in local and global market via better education will remain our primary objective. Education will thus help provide them with wider opportunity such that they can share their knowledge and experience globally and play a vital role in socio-economic and political change in the nation.
The wider goal is to bridge the gap between the poor and rich in Nepal which is ever widening. We believe that this can be achieved only if we can provide quality education to the poor children by schooling them in good English boarding schools nearest to their family and prepare them for opportunities in this competitive era. HMS's aim is to establish a healthy, wealthy and beautiful society with this concept so that we can pave the way to permanent solution of existing problems in our society.
As of now, HMS is actively engaged in collection of underprivileged children’s profile and has employed two ground-level regional coordinators to help collection of such data from different remote areas of the country. Our target is to school at least 20 students from this coming admission session starting from Baisakh. HMS highly encourages and requests well established people to help the organization with their small/big donations and contribute to the upliftment of the living standard of poor people who so desperately need our help.
